Rösti – Switzerland

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, Rösti is an easy and comforting Swiss dish consisting mainly of potatoes. It is eaten all over Switzerland although it originated from the Swiss-German part. In Switzerland, locals use the term “Röstigraben” ( meaning “Rösti ditch”) to express the cultural differences between the German and French speaking parts of the country.

Here is the recipe for Rösti. This recipe will make enough for one main dish or two side dishes. To impress your guests, you could serve your Rösti with a side salad, a fried egg or some melted Swiss cheese on top. Enjoy!
